 Fairview Day Camp

This Camp operates out of the Fairview Pool Building and Grounds

 

June 15 - August 6, 2010

  • Tuesdays through Fridays
  • 8:00 AM - Noon (except on Field Trip days where hours could change)
  • Snacks will be provided
  • Camp is FREE but children must be picked up on time. (A late fee will be charged for children not picked up when camp ends)
  • You must register to attend this camp.
  • Registration begins on April 1 at Northwest Recreation Center, 1600 Princeton Drive

Earn $ while you learn

Young men and women ages 16-21 in the Phoenix area are invited to apply for the upcoming Phoenix Summer Youth Employment Training Program.  The program prepares young people for employment and classes include career exploration, resume writing, computer training, field trips and more.    Classes take place in June and July from 9 AM to Noon, Monday through Thursday.  Youth will be paid for this job training and, upon successful completion, will be referred to possible work sites.  For more information and to register, contact Richard Moore at Unified Health Solutions, 220-6639.  Slots fill up fast so act now!

Swimming at Fairview Pool

The daily charge to swim is $1.50 at City Pools. Consider buying a summer pass to save money!

Youth Leadership Training Set

Registration is now being accepted for the fifth annual Neighborhood Youth Leadership Academy, designed for youth ages 12-15 that live in the Fairview neighborhood and in the surrounding Phoenix Project area.  The program includes leadership activities, gardening, community service projects, academic tutoring, computer training and employment skills development. Classes will be held Monday - Friday, 9 AM to Noon from June 14 through July 23 (no class on Monday, July 5).  The program is sponsored by the Fairview Neighborhood Association with support from the Phoenix Project; Fairview residents Kevin Jones and Thelma Patterson serve as Academy Coordinators.   There are no fees, and participants who successfully complete the program components will receive a nominal stipend.  Advance registration and an interview process is required.  For more information, contact Kevin Jones at 559-2512 or Thelma Patterson at 278-1318.
